What is special about 5Stitches cards and stationery?

There are plenty of online suppliers who create handmade customised wedding cards and stationery, but the 5Stitches concept is unique because our striking designs are created from the stitching of fabric and images to card.

Choose a favourite photo or a special fabric and have these artfully stitched to the front of your wedding invitation or custom card. Each creation is a miniature artwork that is ‘something different’, ‘something special’ and ‘something to treasure’.

With a 5Stitches card you have the opportunity to communicate your personal style and message in a way that is beautiful, creative and one-of-a-kind.

 

What customisation options are there?

You can customise as much or as little as you wish. Cards/stationery/invitations can be ordered blank or custom typeset. You might like to request and/or supply a particular colour, layout, fabric or photo.

We have had brides ask us to match our design colour to the colour of the bridesmaid dresses, or couples who have supplied a photo of their engagement location for their save the date cards.

We work closely with you to ensure you are happy with every little detail.

 

What range of wedding stationery do you offer?

We can produce the full suite of wedding stationery, including engagement, save the date cards, invitations, order of service, reception, name place cards, gift registry, rsvp, menu, gift tags, table number and thank you cards. All can be designed to work in conjunction with your chosen design.

 

How does the process work?

It all starts with a 45 minutes consultation. We will show you samples and together we’ll discuss ideas and concepts. Once you have decided on the look and feel of your wedding stationery we can put together a quote based on that discussion and the quantity you wish to order (minimum order of 20).

As soon as you have paid the 50% deposit we can get started. A digital proof will be sent to you to check the wording, followed by a stitched sample, with one round of changes included in the package price.

It’s a stress-free process from start to finish and we’ll be in constant communication with you to ensure every little detail is perfect.

 

How long should I allow for a customised order?

The timing will vary depending on the level of customisation required and the production schedule at the time you place your order.

For wedding stationery, we recommend you contact us a minimum of 2-3 months prior to the date you want to receive the finished product (invitations are commonly posted 6-8 weeks before the wedding date). Keep in mind that the less time you take to return approvals, the shorter the production time.

 

What is the quality of the printing?

We use a solid ink technology printing service to ensure the printed text is of exceptional quality. This type of printing is far superior to laser printing because it creates vivid colour and a raised texture.

 

If I am supplying an image, how do I get it to you?

You have the option to email us a digital file or supply an original photo for us to resize and reprint as required.

 

How much will my order cost?

The price varies according to factors like how many pieces are ordered and the choice of design.

Our wedding invitations start from $12 each (minimum order of 20), which includes the cost of our initial briefing and all subsequent consultations.

We can provide an exact price once we know more about your requirements.

 

Is there a minimum order?

There is a minimum order of 20 for custom cards, wedding invitations and stationary, due to the handmade and custom-designed nature of the job.

 

Are envelopes included?

Yes, the quoted price includes premium quality gummed envelopes for all stationery where envelopes are required. The colour and card stock can be matched to the style of card or invitation.

 

Can you print on envelopes?

Yes we use a solid ink technology printing service to print directly to the envelope.

We will supply you with a formatted spreadsheet for you to populate with names and addresses before the printing process begins.

 

I am not sure what wording to use?

We can supply text templates for cards, invitations and wedding stationery.

 

How do I check that the wording is error free before it is printed?

You will receive a digital proof to check all wording is correct, with one round of changes included in the package price. Once you have sent us a confirmation email that you are happy to proceed, the design will be stitched into place.

 

What size & weight & colour card stock is available?

We have two sizes of card for you to choose from. The classic card is 105mm X 148mm available in natural white, 250 gsm & is the size used for our greeting cards with a variety of envelope choices. The classic card has our 5 stitches logo printed on the reverse.

The square card is 150mm X 150mm available in white, ivory or cream, 300 gsm & is the size most commonly used for wedding invitations with a softly textured finish. Embossed borders are available as well as a silver foil border on the white card or a gold foil border on the cream card and a variety of envelope choices.
